I love open toe heels and flip flops, comfy jeans, a new haircut, the smell of my kids after a bath and days that I can wear my PJ’s all day long.  Oh sorry, you probably want to know a little bit about my path to becoming a professional photographer.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from VCU (not telling the year) and worked as a menswear buyer out of college, then on to buying music for Circuit City (so sad they’re gone) and then switched over as a sales rep for a music distribution company (very fun job!).  After our second daughter was born we decided I should stay home with the girls.  Those of you who know me know that I didn’t make that transition very well.  I began taking photography classes and knew I found my passion in life.  When friends of family members (that I had been torturing for class assignments) called and offered to pay me for taking their photographs, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.  Long story short, Missy Bane Photography began in August of 2003.

I feel so blessed each and every day to not only do something I love, but I am so honored to be trusted by many wonderful clients to capture such important and special times in their lives.
